#MAC SPICE LIP LINER SWATCH SPICE SKIN#

I have so many that some colours are dupes for one another! I thought I’d put these to use and share them with you.Ī throwback to the brown 90s lip, the MAC lipliner in spice was a supermodel favourite, it’s a very natural looking neutral brown which would compliment all skin tones. On a day to day basis I have a preference for neutral brown/pinks. As well as a quick way to liven up a face, in winter, a moisturising lipstick or lipgloss protects your lips from chapping better than most lip balms. I find on a good skin day I can quickly look ‘done up’ just with a good lip colour without applying anything else. I am a lip product hoarder, if I had to choose any makeup item it’d be a lipstick/liner/gloss. Buy at AMAZON or ULTA.9/2/16 *unfiltered swatches & lip application* As you can probably guess, this shade is paired perfectly with MAC’s ‘Naked’ liner. I love that it has pink undertones in it, because it makes it a bit easier to pull off, especially if you’re paler. I know this shade is SO light, but I’ve always had a special place in my heart for ‘Fleshpot’! A few years ago when Kim Kardashian made the nude lip a thing, ‘Fleshpot’ was my favorite lipstick in the world and I couldn’t get enough of it. It’s a great color to wear with smoky eyes and I personally love to pair it with MAC’s ‘Subculture’ lip liner. Like Blankety, it’s a go-to classic nude shades, although this one has much less pink in it. ‘Creme d’ Nude’ is one of MAC’s most popular nudes (it’s even in the name!). MAC “Creme d’ Nude”: Pale muted peach beige. It’s a cooler-toned pink, and has a creme sheen finish, so it’s not too drying when worn over the lip liner. Since I have more pigmented lips, I love to line my lips with MAC’s ‘Naked’ liner (you can also use concealer), and then fill them in with ‘Creme Cup’ for a slight touch of color. ‘Creme Cup’ looks more pink than nude, but when paired with the right liner it can be a very neutral shade. I normally don’t go for glaze finishes, but nude shades can totally pull them off! Buy AMAZON.ĥ. It’s super neutral and doesn’t add too much color to your lips. ‘Hue’ is like my go-to lipstick for office wear, interviews, etc. It has a matte finish and is a very neutral tone. But other than that, I love this color! A great alternative to this color if you aren’t into the amplified finishes is MAC’s ‘Honeylove’. The only thing I would change is the finish, since it’s a tad too shiny for me. This is my go-to shade when I’m looking for a very neutral lip. ‘Faux’ is another trendy color at the moment, thanks to Miss Kylie Jenner! I love to pair ‘Faux’ with MAC’s ‘Whirl’ lipliner.

I’ve also tried mixing ‘Faux’ (see below) with ‘Velvet Teddy’ to add a bit of warmth. I love to line my entire lips with ‘Stripdown’ first and then add ‘Velvet Teddy’ over top to add a bit of dimension and help keep the color lasting all day long. I usually pair ‘Velvet Teddy’ with MAC’s ‘Stripdown’ liner. ‘Velvet Teddy’ is definitely one of the trendy colors at the moment. I also made some recommendations on what MAC lipliners to pair with some of the colors.ġ. I swatched a few of my favorite MAC nude lipsticks below and also provided their official shade description as well as their finish type. MAC is also consistently releasing new shades and collections, making it fun to collect them! Switching up the packaging and making certain colors limited-edition are also fun ways the brand spices things up. However, I personally find the quality to be just as good if not better than many designer lipsticks – so why pay more? They are kind of in the middle price point, being more expensive and higher quality than drugstore brands, but still much more affordable than the higher-end brands such as NARS, YSL, etc. I have always been preferential to MAC lipsticks and I’m not quite sure why. Nudes can vary from the lightest of nudes like MAC’s ‘Fleshpot’, to deep-toned beiges like MAC’s ‘Velvet Teddy’. The color nude can be a fairly broad term when referring to colors of lipsticks.
