Does anyone else have any ideas as to anything else I may try? This is very frustrating, because I love the Expression Suite of software, and would like to have the latest version working on my machine.

Just like I have to write code so that it will display on different types of browswer / resolution - but I can not possibly make it perfect for every single situation out there - maybe something similar is going on with EW4.

Maybe it is an Expression Web Problem with certain machines / hardware / software etc. I consider myself very logical - and I agree (mostly) with the point Bill makes that if this were an Expression Web 4 problem, it would be happening on everyone's machines, and not just the few that have the issue.
